Monaco GP Demo Crashes

I am getting a crash running the MGP demo.  It runs for a few seconds and
then blows up with something like this:  xxxx caused a page fault in
WAVX2BVR.DLL

I'm presuming it has something to do with the sound.  I have a Diamond
Monster II and a Turtle Beach Montego.  I've tried both the DirectX and
Voodoo versions and neither works.

Anyone else have/solve this problem?

It's a A3D soundcard, isn't it? After turning off HW acceleration on my
Terratec XLerate, MGPR worked like a charm.

BTW, these bozos at Terratec promised new drivers within about 3 weeks,
but that was more than 2 months ago...

I had the same experience:  fix it by opening the sound.cpa file and changing
the line where it specifiesWAVX2 toWAVD3.  That sorts it out.  Or at least it
did for me.  The sound quality will still be lousy, but at least it'll work.
And there are already new sounds out for the demo, if you've got the utility to
install them.  If not, you can get to all of 'em at http://www.f1racingsim.com.

Same thing happened to me, I changed  settings in Sound/CPA/dll from Default
WAVX2 to WAVPW which I also had to change in F1rs.
You can always reset settings if no help. Good Luck!
