Just a thought. Do you beta testers have all the tracks? If so is it
possible to zip them up and send them out? Since we can plug in one track at
a time with this demo engine it would be nice to try out them all!

I don't think they will do that somehow.... Anyway, I doubt the tracks
will work anyway.

Doesn't work... I already thought of that.. managed to get a hold of a
"beta" track.. the "track program cover" appeared correctly on the GP mode
select screen, but once I clicked on the green button, nothing happens.

I was cursing!!

Er, do you know what the terms "Non-disclosure agreement" and
"software piracy" mean?

That would be in contravention of their status as trusted beta testers,
surely?

No that would be illegal.

Remember beta tester do sign something called a NDA  (Non-Disclosure
Agreement).

If they posted all the tracks, they would contradict their contract, and
what would be the point of buying the game ?

It's like why dont they show you the entire movie instead of the trailer you
see on TV ?? For the same purpose that a demo exists for the *** market.
It's a teaser, somehow. Not a full version of the program.

Sure I do. But this is just the demo engine and it was just a thought. No
need to rip someone's head off for just asking a question. Besides it's the
least Sierra could do (Give us all the tracks to practice on) since they
initially promised this game 6 months ago. No, I don't think doing this
would cut into sales of the final version, practicing alone is completely
different then actually racing in the final product with the full options.

An interesting argument. By that token GP2 should have been shareware.

Cheers!

Vintook, there's a huge difference between Sierra offering the tracks
(as you've just suggested) and, as you originally proposed, the beta
testers providing them in an underhand fashion.
