Racers-
wow, what a great week, I picked up BGN yesterday and today when I got
home the PGP Track Pack for GP2 was in my mailbox. My first impressions
are pretty good. I ordered it off the website about a week ago and told
'em ship it slow boat to save postage. I figure it works out to about
thirty seven U.S dollars to the doorstep.
If you've tried the demo you've seen the install procedure, more
software companys would do well to copy their style, it works well and
allows you to run the original tracks, the new tracks, or access the
very comprehensive editor. The whole package is very well thought out.
Also of note is the fact that it works, first time. No fiddlin around
with vid cards, you know the routine.
As for the tracks, they are pretty cool but nothing super special. My
new favorite is Spa in Belguim, the track is huge! Don't get the wrong
idea, it's super to run at new tracks but the GP2 graphics are getting a
little dated. The cars can be set up to look like the new designs with
the high nose, they look alot different than the old 94 versions. You
get a choice of eleven***pits to choose from and all the changes in
the whole sim are done from the new editor. One thing you can do is ramp
up or down traction and power settings for your car, the whole grid, or
any combination thereof. It's quite the blast the up your own car's grip
and really rip around the track. Not realistic of course, but a blast
all the same.
This is not intended to be a full blown review, just my own two cents.
My opinion for GP2 fans; get out the VISA and visit the site at
http://www.racesimcentral.net/ -worth every penny.
        All the best, Mike Davis

I'm *very* envious. I ordered it off the website a long time ago and
it's not here yet.

We need a patch to let us pick and choose the tracks on the calendar.
Otherwise, from all I've heard, the tracks aren't perfect (no  pun
intended) but they are worth the bucks.

Have you been sleeping the last months?????
Steven Youngs GP2 editor is FREE and can do much more than the Instant
Access package!!
The things you mention as cool in your review have been available for
months....
Only the tracks are new, and I 've read quite some reviews stating that
they should have done a better job!
I have the demo version: the***pit is useless and the track is completely
flat and has a bug at the pit entrance (pitting cars crash into the armco)
Your review sounds as if you work for Instant Access...

Exactly....

That is why you have to expect that the tracks should be perfect - but
they're not. A below-par editor and unfinished tracks? And you want me
to pay for this?

Where did I put that BGN disk....?

Cheers!

You got it already? I wasn't expecting it to be out in the UK for another
couple of weeks yet (or were you only saying that for effect? <g>)

Any sign of SODA hitting these shores?

Cheers,
Richard
