TOCA 2 Questions

Just picked this one up and am enjoying it, but I have a couple of
questions.  Is there any way to adjust the gamma settings in game or am I
out of luck?  I'm running a V3 3000 with the latest drivers and the game is
pretty dark in all display resolutions and settings.  All my other sims look
fine (GPL, DTR, SCGT, N3, etc) but this one is very dark.  I realize that
the top part of the windshield has that darned sunshade thing on it, but
even the area beneath it is dark(it looks better when the windshield is
broken...maybe that's my solution).  Any suggestions?  I'd rather not change
hardware settings for this one game if I can avoid it.

Also, does it support split axis pedals?  It doesn't seem to and I can't get
it to recognize it on my LWFF.

Its a nice game otherwise.  Nice change of pace from SCGT and GPL.

Thanks.

The demo appears to support dual axis. Works fine with my Logitech non-FF. It
is a fun game, but a little too arcadish to hold my interest for long.

Glad you're enjoying it. Personally, I couldn't stand the bad physics
and terrible sounds.

You, Neo, are a ***y genius. Answering all two of his questions with an
eloquently written two line blurb. Maybe you ought to have a 'Super
genius' tag instead of ymenard.

Just in case Johnny's problem has not been solved....

Johnny, have you right clicked on the desktop, gone to
properties/settings/advanced/3dfxtweaks, clicked on the glide/openGL
radio button and then adjusted the gamma?

Seems to me like you're giving him the advice he's just said he didn't
want. :-)

Personally, I always loved TOCA 2, and was into it bigtime for a long while,
but the framerate issue was a big problem for me. Turn down every graphic,
and you go a LOT faster. Well, I didn't buy a computer to make it look like
an Atari...
So, I got fed up of turning grafix down to compete online, then back up for
off line, but if there's any stuff you need, give me a shout. Mark Rael's
also the guy to talk to, too. There's a very fast Swede, too (national sport
to those guys, slinging cars round at ridiculous angles), but he's not in
this ng.

I thought Toca 2 was new?

As for the graphics, I'm running at 1600X1200, 32 bit, with all
options turned on and the frame rate is superb.

Of course, this is with a GeForce DDR :)

Gidday, I believe Colin was referring to obtaining max speed etc..he's quite
correct. Don't know anyon using your fine card but for the rest of us poorer
folks ambling along with older cards etc..you have to turn the graphics
right down (which you get used to ) to get max speed of say 151 in Nissan,
Volvo, Renault .
I have no doubt that your frame rates are up there but just check your top
speed.

There's been heaps of discussion on this. BTW the game I believe came
somewhere around march 99 . I did'nt get until much later.

Try http://blitzsports.com/racing/TOCA2/
and http://w1.456.telia.com/~u45604922/ (International toca2 )
for more info etc..

Too much to put here..
