RS-motor into a LWFF????

by J » Fri, 24 Mar 2000 04:00:00

Hi all,
After having my LWFF with bearings now, the only thing I would like to improve
is the motor (without taking a mortgage on my house). The original motor is a
bit noisy when turned and I can feel the magnets now (although not annoying).
The RS-motor (7 poles) should run smoother and probably quiter. Does anybody
have the spec (manufaturer, type, size, spindle diam.,...)

TIA

It's a Johnson motor. The only numbers I see are on a sticker. They are
98011 and 383921. Certainly I, of all people, understand the e***ment of
starting a new project, but the Force RS is only $139 and it already has the
bearings and motor.

Slot ;)

OK,OK

Slot,
Seeing the latest quality shit and bad support from Logitech, probably I would
consider the RS (could be a nice 2nd wheel - have to convince my wife to race
too).
In the moment I have my wheel almost perfect, so no real need to change.
On the other side I have about 20 Ball Bearing kits lying around, so some people
can top the quality of your wheel again <vbg>. Of course I know that you got the
quality right out of the box - lucky you.

Jens

BTW Thx for the data, it's the same manufacturer as the Logi ones.
BTW2 If Logitech doesn't get their ass up, I'm gonna rename my page to
ACTLabs-corner (since you didn't want this name) and make some promotion AGAINST
Logitech

BTW3 LOGITECH, ANYBODY OUT THERE???

Have you tried emailing  the RS company and asking for a
replacement motor for your wheel? They may just send you one for free
or a small price.

I guess that's the way. Probably I can also get a motor directly from Johnson.
