Possible bug in Screamer?

Hi.

Is anyone else having problems with Screamer (apart from the fact that
it's a bit crap)?

On the track with the ships at the harbor and the moving cranes, every
time I drive past the cranes the game crashes and prints a load of what
appears to me to be garbage on the screen. It contains phrases such as
"unrelocated crash address" and loads of numbers in vertical columns.
I've spoken to VIE, and they recommended making a boot disk...yeah,
thanks guys, like I never thought of that...

Yes, I had some problems with it crashing, but it appeared to be more
random than you say.  Perhaps it was at that track - I can't remember.  I
only borrowed it from a friend, so can't check it out.

I have had a similiar problem and I think if you run Univbe51.exe
before you begin Screamer you will find that it will run fine. I am
not a rocket scientist but it looks like some kind of conflict with
certain video cards.

No, I get that on Lake Valley as I pass the overhead cable car.

Hmmm. I've played it on a Gateway 2000 8Mb 75Mhz Pentium, ATI card...etc and
it is fine - no probs on that track/area.

Is your comment about it being ***because of the crashing or the actual
game itself? Personnaly I love it, even though I've only played it in
VGA. The speed's fine, the gameplay's good, the cars handle properly, the
soundtrack *rocks*....

Just remember programmers cannot test their code on every concievable
system configuration - maybe you're just unlucky with your set-up.
