Screamer bug

Screamer bug

by John Hartrid » Thu, 25 Apr 1996 04:00:00

I'm up to the "Pro League" championship level, and I've been stuck on
the second track for a while now (Mountain Valley ?).  A couple of times
I've noticed a car suddenly appear in front of me as I approach the finish
line.  This didn't really worry me before as I've never really been in
a competitive position before.  I've always put it down to a glitch in the
graphics whereby the car was always there but not drawn properly.

BUT

Last night I was actually leading into that final straight !!  The position
indicator said I was first, there were no other cars in front until that
***y car appeared in front of me from out of nowhere and I ended up 3rd !!

I am well pissed off about this - I don't mind being beaten fairly, but
to have the game just drop a car in front of me at the fifnish is just too
much.

Has anyone else noticed this - the suddenly appearing car ?  If it does it
every time, how can you get through the Pro -League ?

Extremely cross of Hemel Hemptead.

John.

Screamer bug

Hi John!

I've certainly noticed it :(. It doesn't seem to be confined to just that
track, either. The really fun (no, not really) bit is when a car is
beamed right in front of you, you crash into it, lose speed and see the
whole field zoom past.

I managed to get past the pro league despite of this (through practice
and perseverance, I guess), but am not playing Screamer anymore due to
this bug. A shame really, because for me it had the potential to be an
arcadish relief once I tired of constantly oversteering my way out of
ICR2 races.
