F1C - Anybody Seeing these Little Problems?

Hi Experts:

I've had this great sim for a couple of weeks.
I've been too busy to race as much as I'd like, but
most of my time has been in multiplayer.

   My system is a dual 600 MHz with a Voodoo 5.  I
run F1C on Win2k, in hopes of taking some advantage
of the second processor.  There is no obvious
advantage, judging from the frame counts, 15 to 25,
with rare excersions into the low 30s.  I have a
cable modem.

First weird thing, I can't boot a player when
hosting a race.  I'm a beginner and won't kick
anyone off for making a mistake, but twice I've
had idiots drive the track backward while I was
hosting, and I couldn't select that driver, or any
driver, for booting.  I put the cursor over their
name and click, but the driver's entry doesn't
light up to signify being selected.

I notice that changes in option menu entries
change my .PLR file.  But my multiplayer rules and
difficulty also change to match those chosen by the
host of the last online race.  I turn off aids we
have concluded to be unrealistic for races I host.
After driving in someone else's race I have to
set my multi-player options again.  Because of my
low spec machine I want to limit players to 6,
which I believe requires leaving the sim and
editing my .PLR file.  After driving in someone
else's race, I see that 10 or more players are in
my race.  If I look at my .PLR files, the limit for
multiplayers has been changed back to 16.  All are
welcome, but my poor old PC has it's limits.

Ping is displayed in the lobby.  I'm assuming
this is the ping time between the host PC and my
computer.  But if I refresh the list of online
races, the pings for the same race can be radically
different.  Going from 20 to 400 isn't unusual.  I
want to get a race on a host with a low ping time,
but that's not easy to find if we don't get acurate
ping times displayed.

So, how do I boot a player, and how do I force
my PLR file to retain my choices?  Does everyone
see erratic pings?

And lastly, I guess there are no mirrors with
the nose cam view, which means I can't use this
informative presentation in a race.  Will the mod
builders PLEASE give us the option of a driver's
eye view with a transparent***pit and mirrors?
Having instruments floating in an invisible dash
would be great.  Of course, I don't know if any
of this is possible.  Will the NASCAR 2003/Trans
Am mod allow transparent dashes?

F1 Challenge is a great sim.

                                           Thanks
                                           Larry
