My local retailer saw a Microprose PR, who told that GP2 will be out:
1) 28th June, if they haven't problems (it's difficult...)
2) 12 July, if they have many problems (it's difficult too)
3) BETWEEM 28TH OF JUNE AND 12TH OF JULY !

They are sure about the third rumor.

Do both the above dates belong to the year 1996 ?

That is far and away, and without a shadow of a doubt, the LEAST
original joke anyone has tried to make on this newsgroup....

And yet, still the most accurate assessment of Microprose release
dates!

"Chosen few"?!?!? Hey, I went out and GOT this, it didn't just land in
my lap. It would have been a lot easier if I hadn't had to write two
months worth of Sim Racing News to get there :)

Having said that, yes it is nice ;)

Cheers!

One of the real John Watsons, but probably not
THE real John Watson.

The way this is going, apologies for the original
post but I just got p****d off reading all the threads
with various release dates.

It will be out when it's out.

Original post was supposed to be heavy on the irony,
but the irony seems to have got a bit rusty.

Must be the wet race practice that did it.

Jealously is a powerful emotion,  I'm not at all envious of the effort
and time you put into SRN every month and you can be assured it is
appreciated by lots of people so you'll have to bear with us ... it's
not easy to remain objective sometimes !!

Still doesn't change the fact that for a while you are almost "one of
them !!!!!" are you getting paid by MicroProse SH for all the good
will and advertising you are giving the product ? (sounds like a good
way to cover the expenses for SRN)

Don't want to keep you from this months edition !!!!!

See Ya
Anthony.

That's for sure, it is a fair bit of work to make SRN, but we do enjoy
making it. It is a bit annoying sometimes, but that's life :)

In no way are we employed by or being paid by Microprose, nor did we
receive GP2 from them (while it is a legitimate version, it was loaned
to us for testing from elsewhere). It would have been nice to receive
software updates from Microprose as "real" magazines have been getting,
but that wasn't the case. That said, I have to say that the people we
have been talking with in Microprose have been VERY helpful, and we have
to thank them for their patience and help.

Cheers!
John
