Nascar 2 carset question

by bmoor » Mon, 17 Feb 1997 04:00:00

I have been downloading those excellent cars from IWCCCARS and other
places, and have created a problem due to my own greed.  I have so
many cars that even though I have some cars past the #70, it stops
there.  I cant see Jarrett's car, Andretti's and many other ones.  My
question is how do I delete cars so that I can show them all?  I did
download some cars that I didnt particullary like, but havent been
able to figure out how to scale down my list.  If nothing else, I want
to be able to delete some of the cars that came with nascar2 because
Id rather have some classic cars and drivers (allan kulwicki comes to
mind), than some of the nobodies they included.  Any ideas and/or
suggestions?  Ive looked in the manual and found nothing.  Thanks in
advance for your help.  And thanks for some of the really COOL cars

Just delete the .CAR files you don't want from your Nascar2\cars
folder.

The only way that I could do it is to go in myself and delete the .car
files that I didnt want. Nas2 can only take so many before you cant see
the rest.  I found out the hard way too.  EJ  Happy Wallbanging

Hi Bryan,

Go to the cars directory while in DOS or in file manager, find the file
name for the car you want to delete, and delete it. Make sure you don't
have the car listed in any of your driver entry lists. I don't know if
this will***up the game if you try to drive with a list which has a
removed driver listed, but just in case...

the car files take the form of  D_JARRET.CAR for Dale Jarret etc.

Get a copy of Dane Johnson's N2HQ program. You'll find it at The Pits. Make
sure you get the latest version if you're using IWCCCARS, because there was
a bug in the earlier version that had problems with our car names (the "#"
confused it). This will allow you to edit the driver list without having to
use NASCAR 2's list editor.

Bryan-  create a new file folder with in the cars file in the nasar2 DIR
then drag and drop each one you dont wish to have listed, or drag the
cars you dont want at all to the trash can!
