Doesn't matter if I use my Microsoft Freestlye Pro gamepad in Analog mode or
my Thrustmaster Grand Prix wheel I always seem to have to have the
controller to the left of centre to stop the car going right all the time.
Any clues anyone

it is supposed to do that...The track it slanted to the left, the car has
setup parameters that pull the car left, the whole purpose of a WC car is to
turn left...so they exagerate the weight balance etc to help that.

Correct, except that he said it is pulling to the RIGHT.  Maybe he's
from Down Under.

Well that would be a good assumption since everything seems to turn the
wrong way down under.  Just look at a toliet.

In our everyday experience water running down drains does not spin due to
coriolis force. Toilets flushing in oposite directions either side of the
equator due to coriolis force is a fable.

Yeah. The Simpsons made a great point out of this phenomena in a
episode.

My problem was that when I went Down Under last year I couldn't
remember which way the water went here, and vice versa when I got back
home :)

Indeed, that's true.

On the other hand, as a point of relevance to this n.g.; the effect of
the Coriolis force on, say, a Champ car driving at full speed in the
North-South direction is indeed of the order of magnitude of a Newton,
which could probably be even measured if one did it carefully.

This works with weather systems, but at all with toilets ;)
