just look at the direction the water "spins" in the sink in the US and the
direction Down Under.

My problem was that when I went Down Under last year I couldn't
remember which way the water went here, and vice versa when I got back
home :)

On the other hand, as a point of relevance to this n.g.; the effect of
the Coriolis force on, say, a Champ car driving at full speed in the
North-South direction is indeed of the order of magnitude of a Newton,
which could probably be even measured if one did it carefully.
