Sounds as though it's going to be very arcadey. Worth keeping an eye on
though.

It will include 18 classic vehicle (Mercedes, Alfa, Bugatti, Ferrari
etc.) as well as variants (coupe, spyder)
"fully integrated rigid-body physics engine"
It seems to be circuit races, though, and also includes an arcade
mode. From the "work in progress" screenshots, it doesn't look bad for a
PSX title (did I mention it's console only?) and there is some serious
suspension lean happening with the little roadster they show.
Again, interesting, I say.

Ho-hum.

The Paddock
cmon Ed... as a simracer you should answer this without a problem ;-)
Unless you consider the Carmageddon game engine (and the actual point of the
game) as a *** racing simulator hehe ;)

"People think it must be fun to be a super genius, but they don't realise
how hard it is to put up with all the idiots in the world."
How can you possibly do that in their implementation? I assume they've
got different circuits to represent city, open country, mountains etc.

I actually found the physics in Carmageddon quite good, considering the
actual focus of the game. The cars in the sim (yeah, I'll call it
that) behaved much more like cars than, say, Need for Speed. As several
people have posted recently about a Need for Speed-esque game/sim
modelling historical cars (see threads about SOS), I am willing to give
this one the benefit of the doubt until it comes out. It certainly looks
interesting, and the web site is fun to visit, although they made one
mistake calling Fangio "Enzo Fangio". I think there is a niche to be
filled with a historical game/sim with "lite" physics on the level of Need
for Speed (but certainly not as dumbed down as SOS).
Bring on the gullwing.
