The game is set for release in May 2000 on the Playstation to coincide with
the actual race. Next generation console versions and a PC version with
online link-up are also being developed.

I saw some video on the UK show "Bits", but it was nothing but rendered
video - nice stuff, but rendered. The screenshots look OK, but expect the
game to take the form of a number of tracks "in the style" of the Mille
Miglia circuit.
After all, how many PSX owners would want to sit for 10+ hours racing the
real circuit?

I agree, the screen shots look awesome. So I downloaded the 20meg video.
Very arcadish looking, nothing in there that resembles the screen shots.
Not hopeful.
