My dad said he'd seen a preveiw of a game which allowed you to drive in the
Mille miglia. It was only on TV for a few minutes, but he said there was
footage of Moss driving a Mercedes. I missed it as I was off to football
training, so I've got no idea what the game was called, or what platform
it's on. Anyone know anything about this game?

I've seen something about it on the Console Domain site:

http://www.consoledomain.com/psx/previews/Mille_Miglia.html

The game is set for release in May 2000 on the Playstation to coincide with
the actual race. Next generation console versions and a PC version with
online link-up are also being developed.

It's being developed by SCI -- there's more info on their site:

http://www.sci.co.uk/Products/MilleMiglia/millemiglia.htm

The screen shots look GREAT -- let's hope it's not another SoS 1937.

That sounds too good to be true... very interested to know either way
though.

It's the old Grand Tourismo engine re-done for MM.  But that is far from a
bad thing.

This might be interesting!   (remember SoS?  :-)

says...

I saw some video on the UK show "Bits", but it was nothing but rendered
video - nice stuff, but rendered. The screenshots look OK, but expect the
game to take the form of a number of tracks "in the style" of the Mille
Miglia circuit.

After all, how many PSX owners would want to sit for 10+ hours racing the
real circuit?

I agree, the screen shots look awesome. So I downloaded the 20meg video.
Very arcadish looking, nothing in there that resembles the screen shots.
Not hopeful.

Damn shame. IMO Sony has a lot to answer for.
