Hi guys,
recently there has been a lot of discussion on the warez-version of GPL
in this group. Some thought that this version was already 90% complete
others thought it was a very early version (because of the bugs) and the
final version would be completely different.
Now my question to those of you who have the illegal und the legal
version: Is there a big difference?

Depends which version you want to download, there was a 'full' version
released around 3 weeks ago, this was not the full version but a
release candidate
the full version is availible now and if you see that availible its
most likly the full, to tell if its the full, it has a version number
upon loading 1.0.0.0 and things like ferrari car that appeared quite
late.

Yes, one is legal and ethical to have, and the other is not :)

And one is available in countries other than the USA, and the other is
not. ;-)

Not that I'm advocating priracy (I haven't downloaded it myself) but I
can understand people's frustration if the game simply isn't
available. That, and everyone who does have it is raving about how
great it is (and that we've been waiting for a really great PC driving
sim for a LONG time).

Yes, same thing that happened with F1RS, if these guys got their
release schedules synchronized around the world or at least close,
it would reduce some of the piracy which is sometimes excused
because a product is not even available for purchase.

I'm not advocating or justifying warezing since a person can still order
foreign games through the web, but sometimes it might be tempting to
say to yourself.. "I'll download the warez version of a product just until
it is released localy then pick up the boxed version."

IMHO if they could better co-ordinate release dates, it would cut down
some of the warezing of these games by the "mostly-honest" people who get
caught up in all the initial release mania combined with the initial
unavailibility of a title.
