GP3 - Suddenly lost top end power! Help!

There I was, qualifying at the Motegi oval and was lapping in the mid
25s. I saved the game during qualifying because you never know if you
should go out again. Ended up 3rd on the grid. Great.

Started the race and was sitting there on the grid so I saved the
game again. The start lights went on soon enough and I was quickly in
the mid 25s again with some use of slipstreaming and getting times
faster than pole! I was really racing and had a fantastic groove but
the other cars were also slipstreaming me...it was a tough battle and
I really enjoyed it. Finished 1st!

However, the next day, I tried racing again and was only lapping
about 28s! The other cars were all beating me...even the Minardi
cars! So I'm now about 3s a lap slower than before. What was wrong? I
tried another race...same thing! I checked my controller, no
problems. Re-calibrated the controller again just in case. No change.
I'm still lapping in about 28s.

Hmmm...so I loaded the game where I was 3rd on the grid. And guess
what...I was lapping in the 25s again. Interesting. Then I loaded the
game when I was in qualifying...28s was the best I could manage even
though my previous times were up on the board with about 25.6s!

Something strange is going on and I can't figure out what it is. I've
not changed the game in anyway. It's as if I've lost top-end power as
every car just beats me hands down at all parts of the circuit.  I've
now cheated by using the Physics Editor to give be some more
horsepower but I'd rather not do this...I really do feel like a cheat
doing that!

Help!

PS - Motegi is a great short oval! I recommend it. The Rio oval is
pretty damned good too.

hmmm, I was about to say calibration, but you've done that. Most
likely gp3 has chosen a default setup then? It likes to change setups
for no reason it seems, just to annoy and frustrate I believe :(

>What does the tachometer show?

The revs are less...I now have to change the wing angles or the gear
ratios to ensure that I get max revs. Well, the wings are at the
minimum level so I've had to lower the gears so that I get max revs.
