It is good. <--- understatement

Highlights so far (only played for a few hours):
- Incredibly fun motorcycyle physics
- Highly polished and funny movies and dialog
- More polished version of GTA3 (e.g., taxis to "teleport" you to
mission-start if you fail)
- More interactive (better pedestrian AI/interactions, clothing store,
interiors, eventually the ability to buy nightclubs)
- The licensed music (eight CDs worth!) adds great quality to the
experience. Cruising the strip in a chopper, when those tunes start to
play you feel like you are *in* 80s Miami
- Superb voice talent; a few of the actors - Ray Liotta (the main
character), Dennis Hopper, Burt Renolds, Gary Busy, Lee Majors

In summary it's everything they promised. A highly polished, tuned,
and improved version of GTA 3.

I second that...no bicycles as far as I can tell, but there is always the
"Faggio"...er...scooter ;)

Anyone who played GTA3 a lot will laugh at some of the movies...

The missions themselves are much more involved as well.  Nothing like
chasing a punk across the rooftops to add to that '80s movie feel, eh?

You can get your tires shot out, and the police can use spike strips...cars
can still take an *** amount of damage, but the visuals and sounds of
doing so are better than GTA3 :)

For the less-driving-oriented aspect of it, there's a LOT more weapons
too...and they've made a few changes to shift the balance of the game so
it's more difficult, in a good way.  (i.e. missions don't pay ungodly
amounts of cash, you can only carry one weapon of a 'type' at a time)

I love it. I get a kick outta driving the "dune buggies" out in the sand.
When they come off a dune and the rear wheels do that crazy suspension
movement. The RC mini-mission is a laugh as well. The way the car you're
driving loses control when enough damage is inflicted to damage and bend the
wheels...........sparks even !!!!!     I have only just finished like my
fourth mission.....where you run down and kill the "pizza delivery boy"
WHAT FUN !!!!!      Very tight roads too.

No

Never, the GTA series is now a Sony exclusive.

Depends - a lot of these exclusives apply to console only.

They bought the rights...and so...if they CHOOSE to release it on the
pc, that probably is spelled out in whatever agreements they signed.  I
would think they will keep it exclusive until it is not seen as a big draw
anymore...then they'll pop up everywhere.  I would also 'guess' that this
won't happen til after the PS3 is firmly established.

Sure, no problem. I didn't think there were any spoilers in it though.
What was a spoiler to you?

You sure?  I just saw a game site with preview shots of the PC version.
I'd guess those were exclusive *console* rights.

Relax with the swearing there jpb...You are in a newsgroup. The fact that
GTA is not a sim, makes any posts about Vice City off topic anyway. So why
don't you help kill this thread?

Everything.  I have been waiting for VC over a year, and it's not out here
until the end of next week...

Then you go and give it all away!

So why the hell did you read a post entitled "GTA Vice City impressions" ?
Seems a bit of a dumb thing to do if you don't want to know about it.

Jeez, some people aren't very intelligent
