Rally game with full Monte Carlo event?

by F50 G » Wed, 28 Jan 2004 12:20:35

I just watched Speed's coverage of the Monte Carlo WRC rally and was
wondering if any current Rally games feature all stages of this event.

Thanks,

I don't think any rally game features all stages of any rally, with the
exception of possibly Mobil 1 (Rally Championship 2000) which only did UK
rally stages.

I'm not sure even if the Monte has featured in any rally game either.

Hi, not for PC, but for Playstation2, there is the official Rally-games.

I have WRC2, and WRC3, and both feature Monte Carlo.
Some stages are terrific.. lots of small roads, almost that the car will
fit, and ice.. very hard to drive on :)

Colin McRae Rally 2, or 1, has Monte Carlo stages, but not full stages.
I guess the stages aren't even real, but inspired by Monte.

Thanks for the replies all!

I still play Mobil 1 BRC and love it.  The sequel didn't interest me for some reason.

I can see that developers want to put a good "sampling" of all types of rally events
so including full events probably doesn't/won't happen much.

I tried the demo for CMR3 and liked it but with CMR4 on the way I'll hold off.

Imagine the full version of the Dakar Rally. :)

Actually there are, or were two console games by Aklaim that were based on
the Paris-Dakar rally.
The first, titled Paris-Dakar Rally wasn't very well received, I believe it
only came out for the PS2.

I can't speak for the 2nd, I would assume it received better reviews being
that it was a sequel, and sequels "usually" are improvements over originals.
I don't believe ether game came out for the PC, as I mention the first one
may have been a PS2 title only, but the2nd was never made for the PS2 or the
PC...

At least not that I've found...

I've only seen it for the Xbox and Gamecube.

I recall seeing a Dakar rally game for PS2.  Did this have the full
Dakar route?
