You are indeed right Agesir.
I have video footage of Jim Clark doing the heel and toe
thing.The left foot was used on the clutch. Clark used to
cover most of the brake with the front of his foot and used
the outside part of the right foot on the gas. He used to
rock sideways in order to blip the throttle on downchanges.
