I've got a Hercules (Nvidia) II 64 video card. When I boot up the pc (1600
Athlon) sometimes it reports 16mg on board memory, sometimes 32mg, sometimes
64mg. Performance follows accordingly, so it's not a reporting glitch. I
wonder if it's a defective card.

Anybody?

Sounds like a warranty job (on the vid card) to me.  I'm assuming you have no
major heat issues in your case, the card is correctly seated and your
motherboard is ok.

I called the HQ and it appears you're right. I putting in  another stick of
memory this weekend and I'll check the seating. Thanks.
