I think the physics are amazing. It just isn't the type of game that most
people get into.

I have the unopened box in front of me. Was waiting to see if I should
bother, but with NR2002 arriving yesterday and RT coming soon, I think I'll
just return it.

You need a clutch pedal, and a handbrake to really enjoy it though.
Its a challenge, so its not for go fast freaks, but its hella fun to bomb
around the bush, trying to get up impossible slopes :)
