We just had a half hour special from the recent Formula Adelaide race of
legends - good stuff it was! Looks like they want to make it a yearly event,
so next year should be even better. Perhaps they will mount a few more
cameras in the cars and give us a listen without the commentary for a bit.

I think the drivers face we are used to in GPL was Sir Jack Brabham's. There
was a camera in his car pointing up at his face. They only showed a few
seconds of footage of him taking off and a bit through a corner, but it
sure looked a lot like our drivers (but maybe a bit more wrinkly!).

I believe that only recently it has been discovered that Pete Lovely's Lotus
49 was actually the one Jim Clark used to win the Zandvoort GP in 1967 -
makes it even more of a bargain for $36,000.

Bye,
Ian

I have the half hour program on tape.

If anyone wants to go to the trouble of making it available to others over
the net through mpegs etc... please email or reply to newsgroup.

I don't have the hardware necessary to input video to the computer.

But in any case there was a lot of good footage.

Regards,
Matt

PS I will only be sending one copy out, so please be honest.

ok, just to make you all jealous, i live in Adelaide, and the place i worked
for was a major supplier to the event, so i got to watch the race from the
chicane corporate box, and i had an access all areas pass, so i looket at
the cars close up in the paddock

I'm not jealous, I travelled over from Sydney to my hometown, to watch it
live as well.  It was great watching those cars fly around Adelaide, it's a
pity the weekend was spoilt by those V8's.

Can't wait till next year!!

Matt Wilson
