IndyCar (TM) Racing Wins SPA "Codie" Award For Best Sports Program

"The next best thing to sitting in a real IndyCar and racing at 200 mph."
-Stefan Johansson, 1992 IndyCar Rookie Of The Year

Somerville, Massachusetts, March 15, 1994 - IndyCar (TM) Racing,
published by Papyrus Publishing, Inc., captured the Software
Publishers Association's prestigious Excellence in Software Award
for Best Sports Program.  The "Codie" award is one of several others
garnered by this auto racing simulation since its release in November
        1993, including:

        - Best Sports Game: Compute Choice Award Winner, Compute Magazine
        - Golden Triad Award and Best Graphics of the Year, Computer Game
          Review
        - Best Sports Simulation and Best of Show, SCES '93, Game Bytes
          Magazine
        - Honorable mention; Best Game, Electronic Entertainment

Designed to accurately reproduce the complete IndyCar racing experi-
ence, IndyCar (TM) Racing provides the most realistic visual effects
and car handling available on pesonal computers.  The product is
        available worldwide through retail outlets.

IndyCar (TM) Racing includes Papyrus' proprietary 3-D modeling engine,
SuperTexture (TM), which creates accurate 3-D graphics in real time,
including car decals, trackside billboards, and road and grass detail
based on actual photographic images from IndyCar races.

Tony Bettenhausen, Owner/Driver of Bettenhausen Motorsports, describes
the simulation as, "...a premier auto racing simulation.  From the
billboards along the track fence, to the cars, to the background
scenery, I recognized and felt every turn as I raced around the
        Michigan International Speedway."

Stefan Johansson, 1992 IndyCar Rookie of the Year, states, "Papyrus
has created a most realistic IndyCar racing experience.  I felt the
speed, the turns and the embankments.  It was the next best thing to
sitting in a real Indycar and racing at 200 mph."

The Software Publishers Association (SPA), the primary trade associ-
ation of the personal computer software industry, considers its awards
the "Oscars" of the software industry.  The awards are voted by SPA's
membership, comprised of over 1000 software firms.  "The level of
entries in the 1994 Codie Awards certainly bodes well for the software
industry and for the nation as a whole," says Ken Wasch, Executive
Director of the SPA.  "The innovation, intelligence and sheer
imagination demonstrated in the Codie-winning products is simply
astonishing.  These programs all enhance the way we work, live
        and learn."

This is great! Congradulations!!! Now how about a savegame feature, along
with printouts of the starting grid, fastest lap and all of those other
features that World Circuit has. If MPS can do it. You guys certainly can.
Modem support??? I'm not holding my breath. There is just too much detail
and data that would have to be passed back and forth, in real time. WC was
horrible except with the fastest machines and modems. I expect ICR to be
worse framerate wise with modems than WC was.

Great! Now let's make this game even better. Savegame was mentionend and
a few
more readouts on best lap and a printable starting grid. I also would
like to
see support for IP so that one could play across some fast networks,
rather
than slow and antiquated phone lines. Stop worrying about modem support,
and
put some effort intot he development of more tracks, a replay editor that
 lets
me save the moments that matter, and a bit more intelligence for the  AI
cars -
those idiots won't pit during a yellow, even if they have only 3 gallons
of
fuel left! They also go thru retaining walls and each other, stay at pit
road
exit for minutes at a time, and do other things that can be annoying.

Apart from these few points, the game is everything the award it was
given indicates: best driving simulation ever.
