It's bad enough that I preordered NC2 2 months ago and then have it
show up in the stores first at a cheaper price.I got tired of wating
for Sierra to ship it to me so I went to the store and bought a copy.
4 days later I get my copy from Sierra stamped 2nd day air. (Boy they
were in a hurry to get it to me wern't they.) That copy goes back
tomorrow, written on the bottom of the box, "Where's the SAVE GAME
FEATURE?" Now today I get an offer from Sierra, being that my NC1 is
registered, I can get an "Exclusive" offer for NC2 for $29.95. WOW!
I know one thing out of this whole preorder thing is that I will NEVER
preorder from Sierra again. They should take some lessons from ID.
When I preordered Quake from ID I had the game at least a month
before the stores had it and it was the full version. Not the
shareware encripted version. That was the offer for ordering early, and
I think it was a good jesture on ID's part to do something special for
the preorder customers. What has Sierra done for their preorder
customers? Nada. I even got told by their sales people that since Best
Buy was selling the game at $39.95 with a $10.00 rebate that Sierra
was going to have a coupon included with the preorder copies for one
free Sierra game. What a bunch of bull that was.
Don't get me wrong I think NC2 is great, but since Sierra is in charge
of marketing Papy's products I believe we can expect this type of
marketing from Sierra in the future, as well as with any of their
products.
