Ok, several people couldn't get NCR to run a network race.  First, you have to
be logged onto a server.  Peer-to-peer networks won't do it.

To start, type :nascar -n:userid  (the userid is your racing partner's login)
select multiplayer
change modem to direct

When you get back to the MP menu, you'll see a line 'user id', or 'net id', I forgot which.
That would be where you typed your opponent's id if you didn't start the
program with it.  From here it proceeds like a modem race.  One person dials,
and the other answers.  Should work fine.
Good luck!

p.s. If I've confused the hell out of anybody, let me know.<g>

I am NOT paranoid.  And why are you always watching me?!?

Yoiu may be right, but my experience is that you do not have to start
the game with NASCAR -N:userid <enter>

Simply starting the game by typing NASCAR -N <enter> and then going to
the MULTIPLAYER menu and then entering the opponents user id. You can
then dial and answer as per modem race. Of course, you have to be
logged in.

I know you don't, but it seemed that I was the ONLY one who DIDN'T include the
userid in the command line, so that's the way I wrote it...
