If any of you have ever visited any of the Silicon Motor Speedway racing
centers then you know that it is not a simulator that you can use at home,
however I decided to post a message concerning it here.

How many people out there have visited and raced at a "Silicon Motor
Speedway" facility?

www.smsonline.com is their web site.

Sometime, probably within the first quarter they are going to implement the
ability to create custom setups for the cars.  Considering this, I was
wondering how many people would be interested in creating a separate
newsgroup to discuss setups/strategies for league racing, tournament play,
etc.

Brian,  check out news.simracing.org and look for Tim Doyle and David Krol,
the race at SMS at Concord Mills almost daily.  Grab there email and drop
them a line, they have a bunch of friends they go with from what I recall.

Does anyone know the charter for this newsgroup?  I always assumed
that it was for any type of automotive simulator.  Of course the
home games are the most popular, but I would think that all would
be welcome (including the big ones that are used by the car companies,
if they had something interesting to post).

Most enjoyable experience I have had in a while.  Raced it 4 times and each
time gets better and better.  I have only tried the Lowe's Motorspeedway and
have a best lap time of 30.427, which is not great, but fun nevertheless.
The chance to create custom setups is great, and they do offer time for
leagues and tournie play!
