RASCAR: What about pit-ratio ??

Seeing that NR2003 allow us to increase tire-wear and fuel-useage with that
pit-ratio thingy...  How 'bout we set it to '2 X' and by doing so requtre us
to pit more often...  I mean we're just doing a 40% race anyway ... 'Could
make things a bit more interresting.. perhaps we see more g/f-pitting too
:o)

That's a possibility...

I'm not in favour of that option.

It partially denies one of my few oval skills, tyre management. If wear is
accellerated there's less laps to enjoy, or benifit from, having managed
ones tyres on a long green run. Wear may be accellerated, but time isn't. 2x
wear halves the number laps where I might be faster and therefore halves the
amount of time I can claw back on the "hares". There's less opportunity for
tactics, so it sort of stops being NASCAR at that point. So I consider
accellerated wear a gimmick in an online race.

I also think there's enough opportunity to pit as it is. It seems to me some
of our faster members are obsessed with the activity. Wouldn't be as bad if
they were as good at handling the speed/line/experience differences in
RASCAR as they are at pitting.

I don't want to run with increased tire wear.

Okey,

We need to decide on this issue...
Some like it - some dont...   How do we solve it?

I don't run in RASCAR, though I have thought about it (gonna hold off until
my ISP acct closes next weekend, then I'll force myself to get DSL). That
being said, I agree with you on all points. Most online games can expect at
least 2 yellow flags. At 40%, that should be ample time for pit stops.
Perhaps one green flag stop, tops. Besides, it just isn't "realistic" ($1 to
the *** drivers). Just my opinion, of course.

I don't like the extra pitting either.

Either or, so long as I know AHEAD OF TIME dammit. hehe.

Just a reference to todays WG race in which I was cruisin in 2nd place 30
secs up on 3rd, 10 secs behind Ed the freak <g> (send stuff ground next time
Eldred hehe) and I blew my  rf tire :(  Never even considered looking at it
either.  'Nother lesson learnt  :)

Did the same thing in the 100% race Eldred hosted there (N2k2) over the
holidays. Ran John off the road... really, really stupid.
