OT:ALM vs. CART vs. NASCAR

This is off-topic but you guys know so much about car racing that I though I
could get an answer here.

I was trying to compare the speed of the American LeMans series cars to the
Winston Cup cars at Sears Point.  I checked some web sites and it looks like
they run a different layout there so I couldn't really compare them.

I'd really just like to know the comparative rankings of cars in a given
racing series on a road course: ALM (P,GTS & GT) (even IMSA GTP/GTO/GTU
would do), CART, and Winston Cup.  I'm assuming F1 would be out in front,
correct?

Thanks!

Not really...F1 and CART, given the differences in specs, are in about the
same speed categories.  Some of the older prototypes such as the Nissan GTP
car, and maybe even today's WSC (not really sure and haven't kept up on it
too much) were much faster (especially those run at LeMans) than F1/CART
cars.  Rest of the groups, of ALM, the PSC and WC don't match the abilities
of F1/CART cars on road courses.
