In the past I'va always ran my games on a 95 box by booting
to the previous version of DOS. Does anyone have good luck
running Indycar or Nascar in a DOS window out of 95?
With the network card working OK for network play ??

I assume to play over the Net you've got to do it that way.
Establish your PPP connection in 95 and then shell out
to DOS to run the game ???

Thanks!

The only time you are forced to run Nascar2 from inside Win95 is for
NROS.

Until NROS I ran Nascar2 exclusively via the F8-Command Prompt Only.

This includes:

Offline

Modem 2 Modem

Kali (Dos version of Kali) only briefly due to warping.

Kahn (Dos version of Kahn) even briefer due to nobody else racing.

IPX using Dos IPX drivers.

Only been thru W95 since SODA demanded it, now run N2 4 player IPX, SODA,
Ten all thru W95. P233MMX /32MB some 4MB, some 2 MB vids No 3D.  Remember to
turn off screen savers, power savers, system agents & Anti-Virus stuff...or
else it'll pluck ya back to W95 against your will;-)).

Also if you purchased the Stealth II (V2100 Rendition), you will
currently have to run your Nasrend or Renddma through W95 as Dos does
not find the Rendition card for that version. You can still run the
regular Nascar.exe, just no support for the accelerated version as of
now. Hoping this problem is soon addressed.

This was supposedly true for the 1st Rendition cars when N2 was release,
but since I have a Rendition, I know it wasn't true.

May not be true for the Stealth II as well.
