Dirt Track Racing update

I haven't seen this on any of the Aussie sim sites that seem to be
plugged-in to the goings-on at Ratbag, but an informed source tells me that
the final beta test phase for DTR starts the first of next week.  No word on
how long the final beta test phase is supposed to last, but with the release
date set for the October timeframe, it can't be long.  I haven't heard, but
I'd guess that a DTR demo is somewhere in the pipeline -- maybe mid-October,
perhaps?  Let's hope.

Also FWIW, I've heard that GT Interactive may very well be producing
Powerslide II in the near future -- but the downside is that Ratbag may not
be the developer.  THAT seems like a very dumb move on GT Interactive's
part -- the Powerslide game/concept without Ratbag's magic touch would be

already have enough of THOSE to go around.

No word on GT Interactive's Indy 500/IRL efforts -- it sounds to me like
they're busy trying bringing the PC version of Driver to market while
simultaneously avoiding being bought out.  I've heard that Reflection
*might* be tapped as the developer for the Indy/IRL sim -- which could be
good, could be bad (I haven't tried the latest Driver demo yet, so I won't
judge just yet).
