ICR2--a plan.

ICR2--a plan.

Here is my idea for getting a modern version of CART Racing.
I recently found the gldoom site and tested the old demo with
opengl graphics.  The game ran fast and clean, and while it
certainly wasn't up to par with Quake III it was a big improvement
over the old flat Doom.
WHY CAN'T THIS BE DONE WITH ICR2??????
What would it take??
I know we'd have to get Havas/Sierra to release the code
copyrights like ID did for Doom, but heck.  The
money-grubbing ***-suckers should figure by now
anyone and everyone who was going to buy a cd
has done so already.
Is there anyone who...If I convince Havas/Sierra to
cough up the rights, could convert flat old ICR2 into
an opengl version that us 3dfx/Nvidia/ATI users
could run in all it's FSAA glory?????

A very good idea, but I think you may dream on about Sierra/Papy
releasing any code. How about convincing the great individual (sorry,
don't remember the name right now) who wrote the DirectX patch for
GPL to start playing IRC2 again...

Grant Reeve wrote the GPL Direct3D patch..

Way to go Grant! :-)  Although, I don't use the patch one day I might
have to.

Jason.
