Some new infos I got from Papy's Mike Lescault:

1. As the physics engine of GPL runs at 288 hertz (!!!) the game is very
floating point intensive and may not run on non-intel chips, due to
this.
A Rendition V2200 or Voodoo II will greatly improve the game's
performance.

2. Tracks update: No new tracks are confirmed at this time, but I am
pleased
to hear that the Nurburgring is not out, yet. Papy is still trying to
get that
classic driver's track onboard. As Mike told me that it takes a skilled
track-modeller circa 4 months to build a track I feared that the Ring
will be
left out due to time constraints, but Mike said that there is still a
chance
that we will see the 'Green Hell'.

Le Mans: It's already known that Le Mans won't make it into GPL. Out of
curiosity
I asked Mike why; he said Papy never even bothered to get that license
(and I
might add that I really don't miss that track, as we get Rouen
therefore, which
is _way_ better, IMHO).

3. Cars update: Lotus, Brabham and (this one's new) the Eagle will be
featured in
GPL. Maybe we see one more car. Which car this might be is not decided,
yet.

Thank you for that info, Thor.  Much appreciated.

Incidentally, there is a GP Legends-specific NG at the following
address:-
Server:- cbr.cls.com.au
group:- alt.games.legends

All information provided by Thor is replicated there also.

Just an additional comment....

I hope it is Cooper.....they deserve to be included simply because of
the fact that it was Cooper who started off the rear-engined format.
Also, it would be lovely to have Rob Walkers team included.

Hi Thorsten,

Thanks for posting this. Mike's comments would seem to suggest that
the Nurburgring is already modelled, I think...
Looks like I'll be upgrading my system when GPL comes out - I see a
PII 266 with Voodoo 2 arriving at my door somewhen in late June :)
I'm a bit disappointed about the cars situation - I thought that there
would be more manufacturers featured. Hopefully the "one other" will
be Ferrari, but I doubt this very much - the Ferrari was ***that
year and I can't see them allowing an accurate simulation of such a
poor car.

Cheers,

Alan Head
