Has anybody got this management sim?  What do you think of it?

I guess it's OK, but it's pretty tedious.  Gameplay consists of reading
email from your "staff", allocating team resources, negotiating staff
and sponsor contracts.  The race weekend activities are limited to pit
strategy and normal/push/ease-off team orders.  The in-race graphics
are average at best.  I like management games and F1, but this one
became shelfware after a few virtual seasons.  It was disappointing
since I spent a couple of hours during a business trip to London
specifically trying to track down an elusive copy of this game.

If you are talking about F1 Manager 2000 from EA, one word:

sucks.

Thanks for the warning and comment.  I am curious why did you not like the
EA F1 Manager?  I have not even seen this game here in the U.S.

Grand Prix World is from Microprose.

IMHO, EA F1 Manager is worse than Grand Prix World.  It's buggier and
much less realistic.  The EA product does have better graphics, but
that's not usually the hallmark of a management game.

Even if you combined the best aspects of both, you'd have a pretty
mediocre game.

Good Question....I got my copy of Grand Prix World, from an online store in the
UK.  Took about a week to get it shipped to Minnesota.

I guess you might try a search of online UK stores.

Microprose isn't marketing it in the US so you'll have to shop online from a
.uk sight.  You also better hope it's a lot better then the old versions,
otherwise it's not worth the trouble.
