RBR sounderror.txt?

by ZZ » Sun, 26 Sep 2004 20:59:09

When I try to start RBR, I get a hard lock up when I try to create a player.
After the lockup, in the RBR directory is a sounderror.txt file. It's
empty. It tells me nothing of the error. Obviously my lock up is a sound
error. I get the same error with onboard NVidia sound and Soundblaster
Audigy and Live cards. I do have the latest drivers for all the cards.

Does anyone know what I might need to edit in the game or anyway I can
get this game to run?

RBR sounderror.txt?

install latest drivers for everything, latest directx c, set rbr to run
in low quality graphics mode, fiddle with various options there (eax for
one) change sound hardware acceleration from 'full' to 'basic' by
running 'dxdiag' and going to sound options.  Adjust default values for
direct3d stuff under advanced display properties.  set agp aperature to
32 or 64mb in the bios.  enable / disable agp fast write in the bios.
Try the new patch for rbr.  Don't rely on it being a sounderror because
you have that text file, I've got it too.
