tracks most of the time. I since bought an HP Ze4145 notebook with AMD Mobile
Althon 1800+, ATi Radeon IGP 320, and 512k DDR. On the notebook, it's very
choppy and I rarely get 20fps. I'm using v1.2 with the direct3d7 dll. Any
ideas?

I don't know that chipset, but I would guess the amount of texture memory
may be the problem. If you find that sometimes the framerate is okay, but
then you turn into a corner & it all goes a bit jerky, that'd probably be
it. Try assigning more memory to the display if you can. 16Mb or more should
be enough.

I went back to an SLi pair of V2's a while back when my gfx card broke, and
I had this. Removed the updated cars & it looked a bit lame but the
framerate came back up. Updated track graphics would probably do the same if
you have them.

I also have a ze4145 and believe it or not I play BF1942 on mine.

You should do a clean wipe of the system(recommeded for any new laptop).

Install something called the platinum drivers.

omegaplutonium_xk1118_rr4.exe is the file, look for it.

It did wonders for me.
