Thrustmaster Wheel Question

by SpiL » Tue, 01 Dec 1998 04:00:00

hi.

i was wondering if anyone has had to replace only the wheel component of the
NASCAR Pro set from Thurstmaster.  evidently my shifter has gone south on me
and now i need to replace it, whole the pedals are still good.  i'd like to get
another wheel with a separate shifter knob as the Pro wheel had (buttons are
_not_ an acceptable alternative.  buttons on a wheel for shifting instead of a
knob is just plain lame.  microsoft's wheel has been eliminated from my choices
as a result).

are there compatibility issues with using another wheel in combination with
thrustmasters pedals?

thanks for any and all advice.

The MS FF Wheel has shifting "paddles" at the 9:00-3:00 position in
the back of the wheel. Some like them, some don't. They happen to fit
my hands quite well so I am on the "do like" list...

TM makes at least 2 wheels that DON'T come with pedals.  Not sure about
their quality since they're significantly less expensive than the Nascar
PRO.

You'd be best to ask TM.  They're pretty knowledgable about their stuff
and are always willing to help.  I'd doubt it, though, since there's that
adapter needed for the pedals.

    Hope that helps...

Try going to the Thrustmaster web site. Under their customer service dept.
you can (small link at bottom of page) order repair parts for the pro wheel
at no charge. I have used this before to repair my race wheel, and have had
great results.
