Hi There, I have a question, can someone tell me how people can drive the
car in Nascar 4 and type these long sentence's at the same time. I know you
have 10 saved messages but these are sentence's. Anybody have any idea's on
how they do this?

Acouple of different methods.  I knew one guy who raced and his younger
brother typed what the driver wanted said.
2nd..using voice recognition, you technically should be able to type dang
near anything with the proper software...the question is....are you
concentrating on your driving when your thinking of something to say?

Another option is Game Commander.  I probably have 10-15 N4 chat messages
scripted into Game Commander.

I have the MS Game Commander, but I find that it makes my system jerky when
I use it online? I have downloaded the latest version as well, but it is
still a little quirky. Thanks for the reply.

Humm .... "MS Game Commander"?  MS doesn't make Game Commander, they make
"Game Voice" or something like that, I believe.

Game Commander can be found here... http://www.gamecommander.com/  Many,
many guys in my league use it with no side effects.  I wouldn't race without
it. :-)

Talking about Game Commander, is there anyway of cancelling the output
of the speaker in the software?

I'd like to have my speakers blasting, but they intefere with my voice
commands.  I usually have to turn the speakers off and use headsets,
which is less comfortable and has less sound quality.

Shouldn't Game Commander recognize what is coming out of the speaker
and what is NOT coming out of them (ie: my voice)

Don't you just love racing with people who have autochat set to the
"autoprofanity" mode?  They're just looking for someone to flame and when they
don't have a real reason they create one on their own.

It helps if you have a noise cancelling microphone on a headset but the
problem will still persist if you do run the speakers loud.
Since GC is a generic product, it works with most any program, it cannot
tell what is game and what is you.  Now a voice-comm product designed from
the ground up to work with just ONE program could in theory be filtered to
allow you to crank the volume.  But I really doubt anybody could afford the
production/hardware  costs that would be associated with such a product.
Which would also lead to smaller sales as Joe consumer would balk at paying
$20 more for a program that lets you speak to it.

Hi,

What I meant is, Game Commander being a Windows product (and a damn
good one at that, even though I'm giving suggestions).  but most
recent game using DirectX, couldn't Game Commander tap into this, and
predict what the speaker will output (it's all an issue of
frequency...) and ignore those sounds?

I'm not talking about a hardware solution, just a software one.

Oh well, must be the engineer in me talking here....

I still love the product, Im just restricted to using it without my
nice surround sound/subwoofer system...

I used to try and use it with Age of Empires...But everytime my friends
chatted using Roger Wilco, it would interpret that as a 'pause' command.  My
friends were getting quite irritated at me for pausing the game so much.
And in Longbow 2 while flying solo, GC called in an artilery strike on my
own troops because of 'ingame sound fx/speech.'  NOT my finest hour...

You are correct, my mistake it's MS Gamevoice I have (Duhhh) either way it
still a little jumpy. I think it's my system that is causing the jerk, after
all it's only a P-2 400 Mhz w/256 mg ram. But I do have a G force 2/32 meg
video card. I think the system is just old and tired. Time for an
upgrade....Thanks for your comments.

I use my Klipsch 5 speaker system cranked up running N4 with RW and GC.  I
use a noise canceling headset microphone (not headphones, just a headset
mic).  Also... .I have Roger Wilko and Game Commander setup to only listen
when I hold down certain keys.  That way RW and N4 don't trigger GC.

Flying games are probably a bit different from racing games,
but if you become an online instructor you will learn to
lecture, fly, fight and chat all at the same time ;)
We were farther than 2 ft from the wall, but the people we
were talking to had cannons, so it may even out ;)
