The new NASCAR 2 demo is awesome, but it has a few drawbacks.

1. No smoke or dirt in a crash. I am not sure if it is an option but I
have all the graphics turned on.

2. At watkins Glen on a right hand turn...If a car passes you on the
right (which is the inside) the spotter says "Car up high, stay low".
I don't get it either!

Otherwise it is a great demo.

I can't believe you went through all of the trouble to get people to read
this when you didn't even have anything interesting to say.  Obviously the
smoke and dirt didn't make it to the demo, and you try programming the
spotter to know which way you're turning on a road course.  It's a
computer program; it's going to have its limitations.  Everyone has been
complaining way too much about this demo.  A lot of the complaints are
about stuff that WILL be in the full version when it comes out.  Everyone
lighten up a bit.  This is just a demo.  It's just supposed to give you
the basic feel of the game.  I'm sure a few more options could have been
included if everyone hadn't rushed them so much to get this out.

This is a problem that I assume the creators expect, but what do I
know since I'm not one of them. Look at it this way... when an opponent
on the ovals tries to pass you to the right, he is on the outside. I can
only assume the developers caught this and will fix it for the road
courses, where they go right and left, by the time the final version is
out. Honestly, I can see this being an easy thing to overlook.

For that matter, do NASCAR teams even *use* spotters on the road
courses?  Considering the difficulty of covering the whole course
(you have limited visibility and you probably don't want to use 4-5
different spotters around the whole track).  I'm not a hard-core
NASCAR fan, so yes, this actually is a real question (not a flame).
;)

Pick one or more: Model Rockets (competition-NERCB) / PCs (even Atari!) /
Papyrus ICR-ICR2-NCR / Who needs a life when you have multiple non-lives?

Yes, as a matter of fact. Most of the drivers have about four
spotters on the track in various locations. Since some tracks have
several blind turns (okay... maybe one or two turns), a few different
spotters in strategic locations or needed. The best place to be when
there's a wreck or a spin is away from it!
