I tried deleting some dbx files and now it seems the SMTP problem has gone
away, at least for now.

I still cant post messages larger than about 2k to news.  I tried replying
to the other thread and it just hangs.

The message I was replying to that started all these problems was 12KB, so I
dont thing it is a size limit issue with RAS.

Maybe time to slash and burn.
