I love this game but HATE the controls.

The MS Sidewinder FF wheel (which is made by the same company as the
game) is worthless.  The steering in virtually non-responsive and when
the car finally does decide to turn it goes up on 2 wheels and
generally flips.

I get the same crappy controls with the keyboard although it's better
than the wheel.  If I switch to external view it gets a bit easier to
control but still not nearly as good as the control in games like
Carmageddon, etc.

Is there a patch to make the Sidewinder work - I would have though a
MS game would have superior support for their own wheel.

Select the joystick option when using the wheel. It seems to make it more
responsive.

I use the MSFF wheel with this game and it works great.  It's that stupid
Mustang that wants to flip over all the time, especially the cruiser.

You didn't mention this, so: Have you tried specifying "joystick" as
the controller?  I think some ppl sais that they got better wheel
response when the controller in the game is set to "joystick".
