OT : MotoGP 2 Cheap - Worth Getting?

I realize this is rec. AUTOS. simulators but I don't think there is a RMS.
Anyway I'm an Auto kinda guy so that's the link.

Anywhoo, never tried a Bike sim before but I saw MotoGP 2 for $10.00 CDN in
a bargain bin today.  I'm a guy who likes his motorsports (and Sims) with
four wheels.  The only MotoGP I see are the highlights on SpeedNews Sunday,
but I do know who Valentino Rossi, Max Biaggi,  & Sete Gibernau are.  I
thought it would be interesting to get as a quick diversion.  So my
questions are:

1. Is MotoGP 2 a good title? (I realize it's out of date but did it play and
look good?)
2. MotoGP 3 is already out for PC?  Is it much better? Is it selling cheap
too?
3.  I believe MotoGP 4 is coming out. Is it already? Is it for PC? Is it
quantumly better than MotoGP 2?
4.  Are there many mods, additions to MotoGP 2? Tobacco patches? 2005
Updates? Tracks?

Thanks

I think it's worth 10 bucks. To categorize it, I'd say it's similar to
NFS: Porsche Unleashed -an arcade/action racer with enough sim to make
it convincing. Also has very cool graphic touches, vision blurring as
speeds increase and absolutely gorgeous special effects filters that
you can apply to the races.

I quite enjoyed it. I really enjoyed the bike painter option too!

Worth it. It plays well and the graphics stand up especially in the replay
mode. MotoGP 3 is due out later this year. Don't confuse yourself with
MotoGP 1-4 (Namco) on the PS2. The PC game is called MotoGP Ultimate Racing
Technology 2.

Well it might be good.  But I'm not sure I'll ever know.
Worst. Controller. Configuration. Ever.
Can't get it to work with Axis Pad.  Wingman Extreme. Or Momo Wheel.
I can never ride or drive with a key board. Remnants of growing up with a
consol I guess.
Do you guys use controllers?  How did you get them to work?
Are there any patches?
Very frustrating.

That's very strange, I'm using a PS2 pad (w/ USB convertor) and the game
work effortlessly. No problems either with my previous Wingman Rumbler.

I assume your pad is available on the 'Configure Controllers' menu (choose
between pad, mouse and kb), then you just assign controls to individual
buttons and axis. What are you seeing on this menu?

I was playing it with a Logitech dual stick gamepad. Very similar to
an XBox controller. Its been a while since I've played the game, but I
think I do remember the configuration screen being a bit confusing
until I figured it out.

OK got it.
Although in the Controller Configuration screen it had different tabs for
each controller (i.e..keyboard, Axis Pad & MOMO wheel) in the game when I
was using the Axis pad it was also receiving input from the MOMO wheel
simultaneously. Unplugging the MOMO and only having one game controller
plugged in solved the issue.  Not sure if that's an issue with my USB setup
or with the game.  Anyway solved.

As for the game. I like it. Interesting. A little arcadey and you can tell
it's a straight port but fun. A number of tracks I've never driven which is
always nice.

I play from the chase view which I guess makes it feel a little bit more
arcadey but from the "Cockpit" view I can't tell what gear I'm in and can
barely read the Tach.  Is that right?  Is that what you guys see? Is there a
workaround for that?  Actually the "Cockpit" view makes me nauseas so maybe
I'll just stick to what I've got.

I know I'm getting ahead of myself but any good sites for add-ons, tracks
etc.?

Thanks
