I received my Xbox live beta kit and I'm TRYING to enjoy it.  The Moto GP
online demo is terrific with 16 racers and NO warp.  Unfortunately, it's
"Dega heads": 3 lap races with arcade racer boys who mash the gas and plow
through every turn.

Example: I'm in 5th place, working my way to the lead pack of bikes and some
jug head slams into the back of my bike around a hair pin turn and knocks me
into the gravel area.  I re-set my bike and finish 10th.  The guy who
slammed me was very apologetic (Xbox live has great voice communication, all
16 racers can talk during the race).  I just need some r.a.s. veterans to
get online so we can do some real racing.

The good news is that Xbox live has wonderful potential for smooth online
play. Hopefully some *** fans will make it online.

Sadly due to the 'discussions ' in Yokohama last month we will have no
choice but to join you on XBox Live and its Sony competitor.....

It's hard enough finding a decent PC game to play online without the***heads ruining
everything. You really think a console game will turn everyone into mature players ? It
will be worse..far, far worse than it is now. A smooth connection and great voice over
capability will just exaggerate the problem.

Luckily, Microsoft has actually put some thought into this. The interface is
set up to allow you to find people of equal skill level, once some time has
been giving to gain such skill.  They also include a global buddy list, so
you can easily find the people you enjoy playing with, and ignore the ones
you don't. I'll have my XBox Live kit on release day.. so see you soon!

N2k2 does this too but I find that the 6-10 races have just as many wrecks
at the start as the 0-10 ones.....

Not to mention on the 0-10 races you often get taken out which effects your
LPI which therefore isnt a very good representation of your skill

Sadly, I agree.

The 6-10 races seem to be infested with people who _think_ they are gifted
racers, when in fact they just don't care how they win, and they will use
any method available right or wrong.  Interestingly, these are usually the
boneheads that go to the low line and stay there for entire race, all the
way around the track, every lap.

In a way, I've found the lower ranked races to be safer.  Most of the
drivers haven't turned into OLA's yet (On-Line ***s).
