GP2 - Over a Network??

by Craig List » Sat, 08 Mar 1997 04:00:00

Is there a reason why GP2 didn't get a Network Support facility built into
it? Is there maybe a patch somewhere out there that would be able to
enable this?

Thanks.

Presumably because Geoff Crammond didn't think it important enough at the
time he designed the main engine for the program. Perhaps worth
remembering that at the time he was doing this, IPX support was a rarity
in games - I guess that GC probably was doing the design work around the
same time that Papy were doing it for ICR2. Neither of them support IPX.

With hindsight, he probably made the wrong decision, but it could have
added months to the release date to include it.

GP3 (coming to a store near you sometime in the new millenium ;-)

Cheers,
Richard
