For those of us that have to do this a lot, I made a simple
utilility to let you reset these bogus fast laps easily (from
warps and now cheaters) I got tired of having to delete
record.ini's after hosting a bunch of races you run into
this problem a lot.

It sound unrealistic, but try to find some old races and watch the wrecks.
Most of what I've seen are Indy 500s, but the chassis rarely takes damage in
a non-firey wreck, but if it gets enough to break the tank, the car normally
explodes big-time. I have yet to see a wreck like that yet.

There should simple be a kick/ban function in GPL :)
But one time at Monza when I forgot to switch from Brabham to Lotus, I was
trying to outbrake
someone into 1st corner, but since I wasn't quite used to the car, I have
missjudged it and slid
slowly into the guardrail. As I wanted to stay in the battle (I lost few tenths
anyway) I kept the
throttle floored driving glued to the damn rail :) And after some 2 or 3secs
somebody that was probably watching the race from the pits started screaming
HEY HEY !!! I think we have a rail-rider overhere !
It was quite embarasing, leaving me confused what to do (since it wasn't really
a fight for some top spots)
if this happens again :
- to slow down to a stop to get un-glued from the rail OR
- to keep on going and maybe stand a chance in some of next laps in some other
corner since this corner
probably won't work.... :)
Maybe the first solution would be better, but hey, I won't drive that little
torque-rocket there again ;o))
I'll just stick to Lotti and do much faster laps without much strain....

That would be a nice function CPR has that and it was nice when you had a
guy who was really just wanting a Demo derby and it made driver pay more
attention to when everyone was ready to race since some hosts might not
wait forever for one guy.
There really is a fine line between sliding slowly into rail and fighting
the car the whole time and doing it on purpose to gain on someone. I have
had an instance during the first lap getting caught out in Lemso 1 where it
was either stay against rail and keep going or really make a mess of race.
I do understand why some will make a call of a rail rider after hearing so
much about it, but I think you can tell a guy who does to gain on someone
and someone who is actaully trying to real car in and hits it anyway.

The Pace car will always go 2 MPH slower then your race car idles in first
gear.
I'm very new to VROC and online racing (just a week) and I find myself still
getting a good case of nerves when a faster car approaches. I've found myself
slowly pushing into the outside guardrail in the first Lesmo by trying to make
room on the inside and end up riding the rail. My solution so far is to slow
right down, put up my arm and let the faster car go by. Hell, my lap times are
so slow anyway, it doesn't make too much difference :-)
