WOW, the paint and decals are barely dry on the real one....I'm sure someone
will have it soon though.

While I'm at it, anyone have a link for the Looney Tunes cars?

Don't take this the wrong way, Please!    I only do Pick-Up races any
more because of time restraints.  I did run in a league on papy's Hawaii and
several leagues on TEN, one league for a few races with Won and N3, and one
league for a few races with the current Won and N4.  (also for note, many
GPL leagues and season championship trophies with those leagues).  But
currently, out side of finishing the season with the GPL leagues I don't
want to do any more league racing.  Next season when I get my racing
***pit/Pod updated and time allowing, I will be joining as many leagues as
possible.

As far as the default cars go (again, don't take this the wrong way), I
couldn't care less about the paint jobs.  I'd rather race online in pick-up
races against human opponents.  Since not to many pick-up drivers have
sponsors such as Cherrio's, or K-Mart, or.. et.. I took all the default cars
and painted them a solid color and placed the car numbers on them.
example.. the #3 car is all black with the #3 in white and the default chevy
shapes (from the chevy emblem button on the bottom of the N4 paint shop),
The #43 car is all light blue with a black #43 on it (with the pontiac
shape..), and et..  Another words I'm racing against generically painted
cars online.  (I still have 800+ generic cars to make because of the three
digit car number ability).

What I am doing though, is downloading individual user painted cars,
those with "real sponsors" and with those sponsors painted on the cars.
This way, should you be in a race I'm in, I will know the difference between
those that just race for fun and those that race for fun but also have real
sponsors.  Or to put it differently, I'll be able to see and identify
specific drivers in their sponsored cars and identify those sponsors.

While we're at it..  anyone with "Real Sponsors" and a car to reflect
that...  I could use it along with a URL to your web site and a URL to your
sponsors.

Would you race them any differently?

For one, I'm sure the sponsors of these online drivers would appreciate
more then just the 40 drivers in their league knowing about the sponsor.
Second, I'm sure those sponsors of these online drivers would like to have a
bigger share of the market over the default cars.  If I go online in a pick
up race and you join in, how am I going to know you have a sponsor for your
online racing if you are driving the #3 Dale Earnhart car?

btw: would I race them differently? Yes I would.  If you are in a
default car the only way I know you are any good is after racing side by
side for a few laps.  While I'm doing that I'm treating you like any other
quake playing, wrecker, et.., driver.  Again, until I know you better
"during that race".  After that race, you could be in the same car again or
someone else could be in that same car, so I have to start learning that
drivers driving habits again.  If you were in the same car at every race, I
could easily recognize you right from the start and know I can race you hard
and give you a run for your money, so to speak.  also as said above, if you
are in the same car every race I'll know what sponsors support online racing
drivers.

Can you see where I'm going?  Thought someone would have picked up on
that earlier...  build a site for online racing drivers to upload their
painted cars with their "real" sponsors on them so that everyone else could
download them.  And having that group of cars completely separate from
uploaded cars with just slight variants of the default painted cars.  And
finally, some way to verify that X sponsor is really sponsoring you such as
a link to that sponsors home page or a page on the sponsors site where it
mentions they are supporting you.  I think it was Mike Grandy(?) who has in
his tag lines that ECCI(?) sponsors him.  When I visited the place, they did
indeed list him.  And Greger Huttu I believe also has recently obtained some
help with his online racing, and I'm sure there's many others out there.  I
visited one online leagues site where it said that TSW sponsors them,  there
is mention of other leagues but not theirs on the TSW site.  so again, some
way to verify these sponsorships would be nice, not to mention the extra
hits the sponsors web site would get ;-)

It was done for N3...can you keep track of several thousand cars?
Nascar Heat has an automatic feature by the guy who wrote the multiplayer
program.  It will automatically dload custom paintjobs and driver
photos...your main NH folder will end up with several megs of cars if you
let it.

Yes. Amount of data is never a problem with a database. Feature is included in
the FILSCA database for its member leagues.

Yes that is a good point.  What I meant to say was can HE remember who's
who in what custom paintjob when there are THOUSANDS of them.   I am in a
fairly small league, that uses custom painted cars and sometimes I'm still
not certain just who that was who blew by...
