If you find you're on a bad connection and decide not to race, can you watch
the race without screwing everyone else up?

no, if i'm on a very high latency connection 2.0-3.0+ then when i try
and watch a race the camera will freeze and then GPL will lock up, its
fine on better connections though, anything 1.0 and below i can view
races fine. i normally don't try to race if latency is above .5, luckily
the hosts i've been on lately (NTT etc) have all been sub .4
