Hi, last night I played for the first time over the modem with one of
my friends and the cpu was so struggling with the settings we thought
were comfortable in single mode that we had to totally remove all
textures (I'm talking about svga here) and leave maybe one bar of
detail levels.

I cant believe this hasnt been fix from F1gp1, ok maybe the increase
is slightly lower than in gp1 but for instance we played Indycar2 over
15 hours and never had to remove textures...

Now please if it is possible fix this in the hopefully upcoming patch.

Yep haveing the same promblems here too,both machines P100  &  P166
Can connect at 57600 ok both US Robotics modems. SVGA 1 bar no
textuers on ,my Occ is at 150- 300% all the time other machine is
fine. In VGA both machines slow down more :( figure that one
out?.Considering Indy2 plays like a dream over the modem, this is a
dead duck for modem play , Funny thing is in graphic detail on P100
with everything off i get 21.5Fps on the scale in modem play and 18Fps
in ordinary play ?.

There is an option to enable the 16550 UART that may improve your
performance on serial connections.  Have you guys tried it out
yet?  I'm curious to see if this will solve your problems.

Do a "GP2 /?" to give you a list of args for the program.  There is
a "use16550" option.

I also noted a nortscts option, so make sure your serial cable
allows for hardware handshaking.
