The secret at Indpls is SMOOTHNESS and NOT scrubbing off speed in
the turns.  Looking at my setups, I notice that I use wing
settings around 4.20/4.00 F/R, but I run the 4 lap qualifying.
It's always a toss up....as the car changes so much over the
first 4 laps.

In addition, for qualifying, you should go to SOFT tires all
around if possible.  Who cares if they overheat after 4 laps?  Be
willing to "play" with the anti-sway bars over the 4 laps as the
tire temps change.

Work on your smoothness FIRST.  I'd keep your wings up and AFTER
you can go through the turns without loosing too much speed, THEN
start lowering the wings.

The 224-225 mph laps that people turn on ICR at Indy, are done in
the 4 lap qualifying mode and they don't care about running for

as they have some setups posted as well as some help files.

: I have had problems setting up my car at Indianapolis...I can only manage
: a 217 MPH.  (At Michigan, I am going 234 MPH).  Could somebody please give
: me advice on my setup.  It is as follows:

: Fuel: 8 gal
: Tire  Compound  PSI  Camber  Shocks
:  RF     Hard     40   -2.32   100%
:  RR     Med.     39   -1.84    50%
:  LR     Soft     40   -0.99    30%
:  LF     Soft     47   -1.20   100%
: Stagger: +0.500  Steering Lock: 19
: FW:  4.42       RW:  4.29
: 1st: 11.20       4th:  5.60
: 2nd:  8.60       5th:  4.90
: 3rd:  6.90       6th:  4.60
: Anti-roll bars:  Front 8 Rear 1
: Brake bias: 5    Boost level: 9

--- Well, right away your Steering Lock looks like it could be a bit
too sensitive, at least for my liking.  You could be scrubbing off
precious MPH in the corners without even realizing it.  Try somewhere
between 10 and 15 to get you through a bit smoother.  At the rate you have
it I can envision some jerkiness in the corners.  Of course it's all in
what works for you and what suits your abilities and control device.

For an answer to start you off, try the following.

Change the stagger to only about +0.2 to +0.3 inches. 0.5 is way too
much for an oval at the speeds you desire. And I honestly don't know
how you got above 230 with that much stagger without being very loose.
I have only played the game off someone else's IBM, but I could tell
you this without fail. Next, after you go a few laps with the new
stagger, soften those front shocks a bit, probably to about 50% or 60%
.  And finallly, what car and motor combination are you using, this
will help out a lot in determining what Ails. And as well, describe how
it feels(pushing, sliding, loose, etc).

(BTW, I qualify using a timed session instead of a 4 lap average.  So that
may be the problem....I would rather get qualifying over with and onto the
race)
