GPL and Banshee

GPL and Banshee

Help for a newbie please...

having just bought GPL I can't get it to run on my Creative Labs Banshee.  The
menu pics sit top left with mouse trails, the arrows on the menu pics are a
long way from where they should be, and when it comes to actually driving, GPL
just crashes and sends me back to Windows 95. (P233, by the way).

Is it time then to upgrade?

Many thanks,

Alex.

It works fine with my CL Banshee- which drivers are you using? I had a
problem with texture corruption using an earlier set, but the newest drivers
work well.

The ones on the CD that came with it - so do I just go to the CL website then
and download the new drivers?

GPL and Banshee

Yes go get the latest CL drivers. These are very good, and I prefer them to
the 3dfx drivers. However the 3dfx drivers have more options to adjust, and
some people prefer the 3dfx drivers. The initial banshee drivers were not
very good. And you will also need a CPU mobo upgrade. In order to run GPL
well your framerate has to be as close to 36 fps as possible, otherwise the
corrections that you make steering and the like are way too abrupt and you
will find yourself off the track all the time. I know it is a pain, but GPL
is worth it. Good luck

Care to provide some instructions with your recommendation?

I'm curious about solving some GPL problems related to Banshee, but I'm
cautious about unzipping anything without an explaination as to what the
program will do and the best approach for installation.
