VROC for N99?

by Wingm » Fri, 16 Jul 1999 04:00:00

Well, I just finished my first day of racing GPL on VROC and it's awesome!  I
did have some troubles with the computer not regestring my practice times, but
it was still fun.

Now, here's my question:  is there something similiar for Nascar99?  I mean, a
web-based, free, connection service so I can run Cup cars against other people?

Thanks!

Well, there's HEAT. I dunno if it runs fast, but from what I have heard,
you can't have as many racers as with VROC or TEN.

N99 uses an IPX protocol (vs a TCP/IP for GPL): I think this also
accounts for the difficulties associated with creating a web based
interface.

VROC for N99?

at the moment the only free things are
Kali,  which is pretty hit or miss or NROS, which
has a free two track demo with about 50 to 70
racers per night.  Nros needs to run the old N2
rather than N99, you can find that on your N1999
cd under the Nros folder.  Kali will work with N99
but I "think" you need to run one of the dos exe's
and have a carset named "multi" with 39
cars in it.  (you don't have to use all 39 but they must
be in the set)
good luck
