IRC2 Wow!!

Downloaded the demo and been playing it with my new
Thrustmaster T2. I'm pretty damn impressed Papyrus. With my
Dell P90 and #9 GXE Pro it seems to run pretty decent in SVGA,
of course the only detail I use is car textures, dirt, skids,
and wall texture. Same settings as Nascar but it feels a little
smoother. I never even played IRC1 so this is really different
and cool to me. I loved it when I smacked the wall and saw my
fender(?) fly almost straight up in the air and land ten feet
in front of me... very realistic.
I'm a true nascar fanatic but I think I'm gonna have to shuck
out some green for this baby. Way to go Paryrus!!

Well on my P5-66 8Mb it is actually playable with some detail
turned on; NASCAR isn't (SVGA mode).

The graphics are certainly awesome; some of the detail,
like being able to see the gearbox, is incredable.

I do have 3 minor gripes though:
        1. I still cant see the outside of the front wheels
        2. There is no visual indication that you are over-
revving the engine. I keep blowing it up.
        3. The cars sound like annoyed wasps on my Soundblaster.

Perhaps the real version will fix #2?

Have you tried setting up NASCAR to match the settings found with the
icr2 demo (i.e. number of opponents, number of cars drawn & heard).  If
you do, I think you will find that NASCAR is only about 1 frame per
second slower...
